Placement Diaries: Rebecca

Placement Diaries: Rebecca

This new year saw me undertake the challenge of starting a brand new career in Graphic Design. So I was thrilled to be offered a design placement at Creative Spark after completing my intensive course at Shillington college. I was really looking forward to learning all about how things work in the real world of a design agency.

I’ve had a great 5 weeks and taken on many challenges. The lovely people at Creative Spark have always had plenty for me to have a go at, and within 5 minutes of arriving I already had my first assignment! I’ve worked with all the teams, producing creds and doing market research for the sales team, redesigning process diagrams for operations, I’ve done lots of research and amends for the design team, and worked on some projects of my own. This has included designing and painting murals to spruce up the ladies loos, and going off around Manchester with Jordan (my placement buddy) with giant numbers 1 and 0 to take photos to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Creative Spark. I’ve also learned how everyone likes their brews!

Seeing how everything works from start to finish has been invaluable experience and it’s great to see how everyone balances so much hard work with plenty of fun! It’s a shame that I am leaving already, but it’s given me a great understanding of the industry and what to expect in my future career.

Thank you for having me Sparklers!
