The big day is nearly upon us! To those of of you who’ve prepared accordingly, congratulations! To those of you who still have Christmas shopping to do, godspeed…

While St Nick is greasing up his haunches in preparation for his chimney marathon, we’ve put our heads together and come up with a must-see Christmas film list. These are the films Spark rates as the pinnacle of Crimbo filmography, so if you find yourself less than impressed with the Christmas telly this year, download yourself one of these, grab some turkey and settle in:

1) Home Alone:

This timeless family classic sees Macaulay Culkin in his defining role as Kevin McCallister, a kid mistakenly left at home as his family jets off for Christmas. Cue burglars. Cue chaos.

2) Elf:

Will Ferrell plays the lovable Buddy, the human adopted by Christmas Elves who returns to the big city in search of his biological parents.

3) Jingle all the way

The lengths a father will go to procure the perfect present for his children. Good ol’ Arnie is at the peak of his family fun era here.

4) Gremlins

Cult Spielberg horror comedy. Cute little furballs take a sinister turn when you feed them after midnight.

5) Die Hard

Yippee Ki Yay! Bruce Willis isn’t happy about his wife’s Crimbo party being crashed by Alan Rickman and co. Long story short, it doesn’t end well for Alan…
