Oxpot Coffee was founded by two local brothers with a bold ambition: to take on the world of coffee, starting in the heart of Manchester. While they had a deep understanding of great coffee, they knew that in an oversaturated market, product alone would not be enough. Brand would be critical to standing out, building loyalty, and earning repeat visits. Creative Spark was appointed at the very start of the journey, tasked with creating Oxpot’s brand from the ground up. Our role was to define a clear positioning, build an emotionally resonant brand, and create a distinctive platform that could scale from a single store to something much bigger.

The challenge

The coffee market is crowded, fast moving, and highly competitive. Independent coffee shops are everywhere, often competing on similar cues: quality beans, craft credentials, and aesthetic interiors. For Oxpot, the challenge was not just to launch another “good coffee” brand, but to create something people would actively choose, remember, and return to.

At the same time, the founders were clear on one thing: coffee would be excellent, and it would be served fast. The challenge was to balance speed and quality without feeling transactional, rushed, or generic. Oxpot needed to feel meaningful, not mechanical.

Our insight

Modern life is relentlessly task driven. People move from meeting to meeting, deadline to deadline, often without pause. When days feel unpredictable and overstimulating, people look for small anchors in their routine. Familiar moments they can rely on.

We saw that even something as simple as buying a coffee can become a significant moment. Not a luxury, but a small, grounding ritual. A chance to feel calm, positive, or briefly like yourself again.

Rather than positioning Oxpot as a place to slow down completely, we focused on the idea of everyday uplift. A dependable moment that fits into busy lives, delivers quality without delay, and still makes people feel something.

What we did

Creative Spark created the Oxpot brand from scratch, developing a complete strategy, positioning, and identity system.

We defined the central brand platform, “Your Everyday Lift”, positioning Oxpot as a positive, steady presence in people’s daily routines. A brand that delivers moments of joy, optimism, and calm through great coffee, thoughtful food, and human interaction.

Visually, we designed a brand that feels warm, inclusive, and emotionally intelligent. A mood enhancing colour palette with pops of sunshine yellow, rounded typography with personality, and a balance of structured design and expressive, hand drawn elements.

Why it works

Oxpot stands out because it goes beyond product and taps into feeling. The brand is confident in its quality, without being showy. Purposeful, modern, and quietly optimistic.

By focusing on moments rather than marketing slogans, the brand creates emotional connection in a category that often feels interchangeable. The emphasis on multisensory experience, from aroma and sound to tactile materials and editorial photography, helps Oxpot feel established, trusted, and welcoming from day one.

Most importantly, the brand resolves a genuine tension in the market: delivering excellent coffee and food, ready fast, without sacrificing warmth, care, or meaning.
