Journey to Spark: Nicol Pomfret

Tell us a bit about who you are and what you do at Spark?

Hey! I’m Nicol, and I started my journey with Spark this April as a Senior Account Manager. Working within the client service team, I’m the go-to day-to-day contact for our clients. My role is a real mix of activities – one day I might be planning a shoot, the next I’m crafting project briefs. Essentially, I’m here to strengthen client relationships, plan and manage projects, and seamlessly coordinate with our talented internal teams to exceed client expectations. No two days are alike, and that’s what keeps the spark alive at Spark!

Tell us a bit about your journey before Spark:

I studied PR at university and soon after landed my first job as an Account Executive at an advertising agency. It was a perfect fit, and I never looked back. Raised by a creative genius, my dad, I grew up immersed in the world of scamping ideas and coming up with the next campaign. His passion for the industry was infectious. While I share his love for creativity, my drawing skills are non-existent. But I LOVE to talk, as my fellow Sparks can attest, haha! So, client service turned out to be the perfect niche for me, combining my enthusiasm for creativity with my knack for communication.

What has been your career highlight to date?

Working on big shoots and campaigns is always a “pinch me” moment! How am I getting paid to do something I love?! Last year, I planned and led a five-day shoot for an outdoor power equipment brand, and it felt like everything I’d learned throughout my career came into play. The shoot was a huge success, and we captured some amazing content. I truly felt like a boss b****.

What’s the best thing about working in the agency/creative industry space?

The best thing about working in the agency and creative industry space is the constant variety and excitement. Every project brings new challenges, fresh ideas, and the opportunity to collaborate with diverse, talented people. It’s a dynamic environment where creativity thrives, and you’re always learning and adapting. Plus, seeing your ideas come to life and make an impact is really rewarding.

Do you have a fun fact about yourself?

Oh wow now I feel put on the spot! I don’t know my left and right… but that’s not really fun.
