Client: Greater Sport
Brief: Branding and Website
Year: 2012

When Greater Sport came to us in 2012, we knew this brief was important. We weren’t just creating a brand; we were shaping a vision to impact every person in Greater Manchester. As Laura Hall, Marketing Manager, noted: “If all Manchester partners get this right, it affects everyone in Greater Manchester leading up to and after the Olympics and Paralympics.
WHEN IT REALLY MATTERS
A brief that would drive legacy from the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games
We set out to ride the nation mood, by inspiring Manchester get passionate about sport and raise awareness of how accessible sport is in their city.
CHANGING LIVES
The strategic direction would unify all partners from National Governing Bodies for Sport, such as Sport England, ten local authorities across Manchester, and all Primary Care sectors.
‘Changing lives’ was born, and set out to do just that.

GET MOVING
We brought the strategy to life with a flexible brand identity featuring 50+ hand-drawn stick figures used in collages and animations, all inspired by the Olympics. This energetic approach effectively engaged a broad audience, delivering motivating messages across multiple platforms.
READY FOR ACTION
We empowered the charity with detailed Brand guidelines, a new website, and a toolkit of marketing and internal collateral that would set them up for success.

THE IMPACT
The execution was praised for being inclusive, fun, and brilliantly capturing the spirit of sport.
It was fully embraced and utilised across all communications, including by broader sports organisations like Sport England. Score!
