Creative Spark & Behance present ‘The Cream of Manchester’
Behance Portfolio Reviews Week happened this May and it all happened very fast. May 12 was the date everyone had beared in mind or even set in their iCal reminders.
We were asked by Behance to get involved this year and show off the talent that Manchester had to offer.
We teamed up with the local talent to bring you the best #BehanceReviews ever! (Well maybe not ever ever, but more like so-far ever).
The list of agencies that joined us for the event grew day by day. The Sparks could not hope for a better collective to partner with for this occasion. ‘The Cream of Manchester’ involved teams from top studios and agencies: BBC UX&D, CORPORATION POP, LOVE, MUSIC, THE NEIGHBOURHOOD, STANLEY CHOW, ROB EVANS and POWERED BY REASON.
This creative ensemble has not only offered feedback on submitted folios, but also sticked around to socialise with the local creative community in a more relaxed space. TWENTY TWENTY TWO which is an ideal venue for all things creative, agreed to host this social soiree in the undisputed northern capital of design.
To kickstart the night on a high we asked a well-known creative designer and our friend Dave Sedgwick (also known by most of us as designbydave) to be the guest speaker. Dave shared his personal experiences and offered a fresh dose of great creative insights into the world of DESIGN.
There was also a prize up for grabs for all the attendees – a full year subscription to Adobe CC – just in case the folio review, free event and beer would not be enough.
We are still buzzing from the excitement!
The turn up exceeded our wildest expectations and proved Manchester has certainly plenty to be proud of. A total of 155 aspiring designers and inspired creatives showed up at the event and mingled with the like-minded crowd till the music stopped and all the beer taps ran dry.
To add a nice cherry to the top our ‘Cream of Manchester’ one page site has been spotted and picked by One Love Page (http://onepagelove.com/) listing among best web designs to watch.
