Manchester’s Best Burgers!

National Burger Day 2014

Harry, Junior Studio Coordinator

Today (Wednesday 27th August) is National Burger day in the UK, to celebrate, the Sparks have compiled 5 of our favourite Burgers in this wonderful city of ours: Manchester.

1. Byron

Byron is the perfect place to get a fresh meaty burger, cooked how you like it, with no fuss. Great service and freshly made patties makes Byron a must go. Top it all off with one of their awesome milkshakes (not technically celebrated today but worth a dairy-liscous mention).

Recommend: The Byron-Dry cure bacon, cheddar cheese and their own Byron sauce, you can’t go wrong with this top take on a bacon cheese.

2. Solita

Found on Turner Street, Solita is a quirky place with an impressive enclosed Inka grill. They have an awesome specials board featuring beers and wines, but the winner here is their Burger Of The Day. Great idea, with a wonderful veggie menu too, everyone is pleased especially our Operations Manager Charlotte!

Recommend: The Big Manc – Two 6-ounce chuck steak patties, topped with Monterey Jack  cheese, The Big Manc is the burger of all burgers. Tackling this bad boy is no easy feat, but mamma-mia is it good.

3. Red’s True Barbecue

Red’s takes barbecue to the next level. Its flame grill uses a blend of hickory and fruit wood chip to give a true barbecue flavour to all that “meats” it (see what we did there?). Red’s gets busy so be sure to book.

Recommend: The Donut Burger- They themselves say this burger should not work, but it does. Two glazed donuts substitute your usual bun, combined with 100% steak burgers and double cheese, gives this burger an incredible and unique flavour. Winner winner, donut dinner.

4. Trof

Brilliant place on Thomas street, Trof is brimming on the weekend with live music and tasty food. If you want a bit of buzz with your bite then this is it!

Recommend: The ‘World Famous’ Trof Burger. Handmade with aged Cheshire beef, these patties are garnished with double cheese, all the trimmings and laid between a brioche bun. Rosemary salted fries for a side finishes this burger off nicely!

5. Almost Famous

A hipster’s paradise (our resident hipster Char can vouch for this), is hidden in the depths of the Northern Quarter and lively in its full glory on Deansgate. Meat, meat and more meat at Almost Famous – definitely go here if you need something filling, and at times, life threatening.

Recommend: Everything.
