Placement Diary: Gary Corr
We recently had Gary join the team here at Creative Spark. He impressed us all during his time with us, here’s what he had to say on experience:
My 4 week placement at Creative Spark was an amazing experience. Only a day after I had sent out my self-promotion mailer to Andy, he had contacted me to arrange to see my portfolio. After a quick review of my portfolio Andy offered me a placement there and then, I was well pleased.
I was really excited on the first day, even though I was slightly nervous, but I soon felt at ease as i was introduced to everyone.
The new offices are class, everything you expect a design agency to look like, open plan New York loft-style. The place is always buzzing with a great atmosphere and good music to work to, with a few more relaxed days in between which were good.
Everybody in the studio was so laid back and friendly, Neil the Creative Director was really friendly and always acknowledged the work I had done (I wasn’t expecting this from a Creative Director lol) Andy was easy to get along with and was more than willing to answer any questions I had and more than willing to help me out. I loved how I was involved me in the staff meetings and asked for my opinions and ideas, it made you feel like a proper member of the team. I was involved in a few live briefs and got a chance to do some cool illustration work while I was there that was really exciting. I would recommend working here to anyone!
I had some laughs working there. They even invited me to one of their staff nights out to a comedy club where we were treated to free food and drink, and another free lunch the next day, which i didn’t expect, it was really good way to get to know everybody outside of work.
Thanks to everyone at Creative Spark for making my placement everything I expected a design agency to be like and more and i hope i get the chance to work with you guys again in the future!!
It was a great 4weeks!!!! 🙂 Gary
