The Kooks

Our senior designer, Andy, recently won a high profile competition to design The Kooks North America tour poster.

The www.creativeallies.com competition brief communicated that indie rock band, The Kooks, were looking for a killer original poster to commemorate their new album – Junk of the Heart – and their second tour across North America.  Creative Allies chose Andy’s design from hundreds of submissions saying that he is a role model for the thousands of other designers in the Creative Allies community.

Andy is a huge fan of The Kooks, he said: “I am made up I have won the competition and it’s crazy to think that my posters will be plastered all over the US. “I wanted to create an iconic poster that was in keeping with The Kooks branding and the red and blue colour way is to symbolise they are a British Band.”

Manchester has a long history of producing music posters and album covers, possibly the most iconic is Peter Saville who became famous for designing for Factory Records artists, Joy Division and New Order as well as the famous dance nightclub Hacienda.
